Sofia Escamilla is a first gen. alternative R&B singer songwriter from Chicago, Illinois. Growing up on Disney Channel, and watching shows like Hannah Montana, and movies like Camp rock- she knew as a child that this is the life she would eventually have. She started writing songs as early as 6 years old and as she grew older, she carefully put in the work to get better at her craft. Later in life, she studied at Berklee College of music, in pursuit of an independent music career as a Singer Songwriter. Pulling inspiration from indie, hiphop, and old school R&B- with influences like “Amaria”, “Kali Uchis” and early “SZA”-  she’s created playful, soulful, dream-like soundscapes within her own music.

Proud to be the daughter of Mexican immigrants- she is deeply community-driven. Approaching her music as a vessel in which she can express her cultural roots, and feelings regarding first gen struggles. With music ranging from sultry pop/r&b music, to more real and raw issues- like mental health struggles and relationships issues. Regardless of the listeners background- they are sure to get whisked away into this musical world she's created for not only herself, but for the people. 

She is currently working with Classick Studios, famous for producing on SZA’s CNTRL album; she plans on releasing her first single in upcoming months, followed by many more.
